The Court reiterates the right of parents when their children are born.

The Constitutional Court reiterated that paternity leave operates for all children, under conditions of equality, regardless of their filiation. This was said after resolving a claim against paragraph 2 of numeral 5 of article 1 of Law 1822 of 2012, by means of which early childhood care is encouraged. The law establishes that the husband or partner is entitled to eight working days of paid paternity leave, which operates for the children born of the spouse or partner.
