Migratory policy of the colombian state

MIGRATORY POLICY OF THE COLOMBIAN STATE.

The petitioners are persons of Venezuelan nationality, who consider that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs violated their fundamental rights by refusing to provide effective protection measures and a response to their request for recognition as refugees. In this case, the Court analyzes the following topics: 1. The Colombian State's power to define its migration policy. 2º. The constitutional and legal framework applicable to the recognition of refugee status and the process of obtaining a Colombian visa. 3º. The duty of the State to guarantee the fundamental rights of foreigners in Colombia without distinction because of their national origin and, 4th. The situations in which it is possible to apply a differentiated treatment.
