Justice Rojas studied Law at University Externado of Colombia and specialized
in Procedural Law, Administrative Law and Constitutional Law. He holds a Master’s Degree in Human
Rights and Human Rights Democracy from the University of Valencia (Spain) and is currently a
candidate for a Doctorate Degree from the same university. Justice Rojas has wide experience in
the academic field, as head professor of University Externado of Colombia, Member of both Colombian
and Ibero-American Institutes of Procedural Law and as Fellow of the Colombian Academy of Jurisprudence.
As a public servant, he worked as Prosecutor and Deputy Prosecutor of the Nation, and also as
Deputy Prosecutor for Civil Affairs. During his permanence in these positions, Justice Rojas stood
for the defense of public property and public heritage, as well as for the protection of fundamental
rights in various milestone cases. For 22 years, he has taught Civil Procedural Law and Constitutional
Rights at the National University of Colombia, the University of Los Andes, the University Externado
and the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario University. Was appointed to the Constitutional
Court May 2, 2013.
